The creation of the facility will demonstrate how an anchor institution can transform a neighborhood from “transitional” to a Healthy Place, supporting the physical, mental, and social well-being of those who live, learn, and visit the Humboldt Park community.
The over 40,000 square foot Wellness Center facility will be built adjacent to the Humboldt Park Health campus. By addressing the wellbeing of our patients and community, not only will the Wellness Center improve their health, but it will also support positive outcomes for the individual and strengthen community bonds. The building will include a swimming pool, community room, mind and body studio, kids club and much more. We will provide programming to improve patient outcomes-medical fitness, nutritional counselling, disease management and prevention, physical therapy, and rehabilitative exercises. “A medically integrated center improves patient outcomes and gives community members the chance to engage in education, wellbeing activities and exercise, while building community bonds and positive relationship between the health system and the individual,” according to our visionary leader Mr. Jose Sanchez.
