As the city of Chicago opens up, it is important for all staff, patients, and visitors to continue to exercise all COVID-19 safety measures at Humboldt Park Health. This includes face masks and hand hygiene. We have started visiting hours that are posted at the front desk of the hospital.
Even though, the cases of COVID-19 in Chicago, Illinois state, and our community have decreased, the threat is still there especially due to the emergence of the new variants. Some studies show that vaccines may be less effective against the new Delta variant. Based on the City of Chicago web site, only 56.9% of the population has completed the vaccination series (both doses) in the zip code 60622 is 56.9%. We also know that the COVID rates are higher among communities with less vaccination.
